Frequently Asked Questions

Short, plain answers for buyers and sellers. Where a question has legal consequences, the linked policy is the authoritative document.

1. What is SnapCatalog?

SnapCatalog is software that lets an independent seller publish a product catalog, share a link, and receive orders. We are not the seller, the shop, the courier, the merchant of record or a payment processor. Every sale is a contract between the buyer and that seller.

2. Who am I actually buying from?

From the independent seller who owns the storefront you are browsing. Their store name and contact details are shown on the storefront. SnapCatalog does not own, inspect, stock, price or dispatch any product listed by a seller, and does not vet or endorse sellers.

3. How do payments work?

  • Online payment means a direct UPI transfer from you to the seller's own UPI account.
  • SnapCatalog never receives, holds, escrows or routes your money, and takes no commission from the order.
  • Your order is only treated as paid once the seller confirms they received the money in their account.
  • Cash on delivery, where offered, is settled entirely between you and the seller.

Because money moves directly to the seller, you should always confirm the recipient name shown by your UPI app before approving a payment, and only pay a seller you are willing to trust.

4. What if the seller does not deliver, or the item is wrong?

Contact the seller first, using the WhatsApp number or contact details on their storefront. The seller is solely responsible for delivery, quality, cancellations, returns and refunds. SnapCatalog cannot deliver your order, cannot issue or reverse a refund on the seller's behalf, and has no ability to recover a UPI transfer once it has been sent. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

5. What if I think a seller has defrauded me?

Report the store to us at support@snapcatalog.app with the store link and what happened. We investigate reports under our Acceptable Use Policy and can warn, unpublish or remove a store. We are not, however, a party to your transaction, cannot adjudicate the dispute and cannot compensate you for it. For financial loss, raise the matter with your bank or UPI provider and, where appropriate, with the police or your local consumer authority.

6. How do I stay safe as a buyer?

  • Check that the recipient name in your UPI app matches the store you are buying from.
  • Message the seller and confirm price, stock and delivery time before paying.
  • Be cautious with unusually cheap offers, pressure to pay immediately, or requests to pay outside the storefront.
  • Keep your payment reference and chat history in case you need to raise a dispute.
  • Never share your UPI PIN, OTP or card details with a seller — no legitimate seller needs them.

7. What data is collected about me?

For a storefront order we process your name, phone number, delivery address, order contents and payment reference so the seller can fulfil the order. The seller controls that data and we handle it on their behalf. Your cart stays in your own browser until you submit an order. Details are in our Privacy Policy and Cookie & Storage Policy.

8. Seller questions

  • The Free plan allows up to 3 published products; Pro is ₹599 per month, renews automatically each month and removes that limit.
  • You set your own prices, delivery areas, delivery fees, refund terms and customer support.
  • Customer payments go straight to the UPI account you save in settings; SnapCatalog never holds them.
  • You are responsible for tax, invoicing, product safety and handling your customers' data lawfully.
  • You can cancel Pro at any time from Account settings; you will not be charged again and access continues to the end of the paid period. We email a reminder before every renewal.

Your full obligations are set out in our Terms of Service.

9. How do I contact SnapCatalog?

Email support@snapcatalog.app or use the contact page. For anything about a specific order, contact the seller directly — they hold the order and the money.

10. What happens when I report a seller?

Customers can report a seller if they believe a store violates SnapCatalog's Terms, Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable laws. SnapCatalog reviews reports and may contact the seller for additional information, documents, or proof.

11. What happens after a seller is reported?

SnapCatalog may temporarily restrict a seller's account while reviewing a serious report. The seller may be asked to provide information or supporting documentation. Reports are reviewed based on the available evidence and circumstances.

12. How long does a seller have to respond?

When additional information is requested, the seller will generally have 72 hours to respond unless SnapCatalog specifies a different timeframe due to the circumstances.

13. What happens if a seller does not respond?

Failure to respond within the requested timeframe may result in restrictions, suspension, or termination of the seller's SnapCatalog account, depending on the circumstances.

14. Can SnapCatalog ban a seller?

Yes. SnapCatalog may suspend or terminate accounts that violate its Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, applicable laws, or platform rules. Serious violations may result in immediate action.

15. Does reporting a seller automatically ban them?

No. A report does not automatically mean that a seller will be banned. SnapCatalog reviews the report and available evidence before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect users or the platform.
